About Your Teachers
We all love music, but it takes dedication and hard work to become a serious musician. Dr. Beau Cornelius, DMA (piano and jazz theory) and Dr. Amy Miller, DMA (cello and theory) bring doctoral training and real-world performance experience to help you turn effort into progress. We teach in person and online with clear weekly goals, supportive accountability, and practical strategies so you practice efficiently and grow musically.
Beau is a performing jazz pianist and adjunct instructor at Barry University and Miami Dade College. He specializes in the Great American Songbook, stride piano, popular music, and practical jazz theory. Beau's lessons emphasize groove, repertoire building, ear training, and confident performance -- giving adult learners and motivated teens a structured path to sound great at the keyboard.
Amy is a cellist and dedicated educator whose training includes the National Symphony Orchestra Fellowship at the Kennedy Center; a BM from the University of Michigan, an MM from UTEP (with Zuill Bailey), and a DMA from the University of Miami Frost School of Music. She served 5+ years as Strings Department Head at Camp Encore/Coda and has held roles with Frost's MusicReach and the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra. Amy blends rigorous fundamentals with student-centered coaching to develop expressive tone, solid technique, and efficient practice habits.
About Us
WE'RE COMMITTED TO YOUR MUSICAL GROWTH
Why choose Madrigal?
A madrigal is a form of Renaissance vocal music designed for multiple voices—expressive, polyphonic, and usually a cappella. We chose the name because great musicianship grows the same way: listening, clarity, and parts working together. That’s how we teach—layering technique, theory, and creativity into real, weekly progress.
